Why we built this

Most people don't have a place to ask a question without being sold to.

We built one.

How we work

Three principles that decide every recommendation.

We answer in writing.

Anything we wouldn't put on paper, we don't say on a call. Writing forces us to be specific, to show our math, and to commit to a recommendation that has to read as well next year as it does today.

We name the alternative.

Every recommendation includes what we'd do instead — and the case for not changing anything at all. About a third of our reviews end with "keep what you have."

We tell you what we'd do.

The opinion ends with the call we'd make if it were our own money. Not three options to think about. Not a balanced overview. A position, on paper, by name.

How we work

What we promise every customer.

Six things you can count on, regardless of who you are or what you're deciding.

We won't rush you.

Take your time deciding. Read the review twice. Sleep on it. We'd rather you ask three follow-up questions than commit to something you don't fully understand.

We answer fast.

Email us in the morning, hear back the same day. Always within one business day — even on Saturdays.

We follow up every step.

If we're waiting on a carrier illustration, a form, or anything else, we'll tell you. We don't go quiet on you in the middle of a decision.

You get the answer in writing.

Every opinion arrives as a PDF. Read it on the couch, share it with your spouse, come back to it tomorrow. Nothing important gets lost on a phone call.

The recommendation is for you.

If staying put with what you have is the right call, we'll tell you. About a third of our reviews end with "keep what you have."

You see real options.

We work with 36 different carriers — MassMutual, New York Life, Mutual of Omaha, Lincoln Financial, and most of the other top-rated names. The option we recommend is the one that actually fits you.

Rikin & Martha Shah, Co-founders GetSure, founded 2020.

The firm.

GetSure was founded in 2020 by Rikin and Martha Shah. Both spent the better part of a decade in the insurance industry — long enough to see how most advice gets delivered, and to want to build a firm that did it differently.

The firm is licensed in all 50 states and works with 36 carrier partners. It earns its living two ways: a flat fee for the deliverables it writes, and a commission if you ask it to place a policy. Both are spelled out before you decide. Here's how that works in plain English →

It's a small firm on purpose. The founders still read every piece of work that goes out the door.
